Christie Lynn Smith began acting at age 15 earning her Screen Actors Guild card right out of high school. Christie studied her craft with famed acting coaches, Howard Fine, Uta Hagan and with the improv comedy troupe The Groundlings.
She’s appeared on more than 50 of televisions highest rated series including; Grey's Anatomy, Justified, Bones, NCIS, Castle, House,
Boston Legal, Criminal Minds, Saving Grace, Dexter, CSI, Weeds and Togetherness.
Christie’s film career began when she was hand picked by legendary casting directors Jane Jenkins and Janet Hirshenson for the comedy, What Boys Like, which then led her to starring in Ted Turner's civil war epic, God's and Generals, Breck Eisner’s remake of The Crazies, the thriller Ticket Out, and most recently James Franco's remake of Mother May I Sleep With Danger?
On the indie film circuit Christie has been recognized and praised for her talents being nominated for Best Actress at the Eerie Horror Film Festival for her role as a serial killer on the run in the thriller, The Last Stop Cafe. In addition she earned a Leading Actor Accolade Film award and a Best Actress nomination from the Method Fest Film Festival for her raw portrayal of the suicidal, "Rae" in the film, Grace, in which Laurence Fishburne praised the film's "sensitive, illuminating performances”.
Christie stars in the film Rated, in which she co-wrote and produced with her husband, Director/Writer John Fortson. Rated has been officially selected by over 55 of the most prestigious festivals all over the world. So far, Rated has taken home 21 Festival Awards, including 14 Jury Awards for Best Short Film and a Best Actress Award for Christie. Christie lives in Los Angeles. When she’s not acting she loves spending time with her husband and two children, Joshua and Abby. They can be found at the local Farmer's Market trying new foods or at the beach digging for hermit crabs. Christie also enjoys hiking, cooking and Pilates.
